The opportunity is available to learn more about singing technique for those wishing to do so, but primarily this course is for fun. Just for the sheer joy of singing! About the Tutor Glynda Bluhm - "A Voice for the Occasion" The tutor, Glynda Bluhm, is an entertainer and her enthusiasm for singing and enjoying music is bound to rub off on the students. Glyndas interest in music began in 1964 when her family moved to Canberra. She learned to play guitar, and sang at youth functions while accompanying herself with her guitar. Later she taught classical and folk guitar She studied Classical Voice with Pat Davey for 20 years. In 1991 Glynda decided to test her skills and entered a dozen Eisteddfods throughout NSW resulting in over 60 trophies and cash prizes including Championships. Her 1992 & 1993 Eisteddfod seasons were even more successful. Until acquiring her alpacas and llamas, Glynda busked around Canberra for several years, enjoying the spontaneity of performing what and where she chose. As her dedication to alpaca and llama farming increased, Glyndas performances became less regular, although she still enjoys performing at weddings, concerts and nursing homes, using the whole spectrum of her repertoire and using both a pianist and karaoke as accompaniment. Glynda has performed with Canberra Philharmonic, Queanbeyan Players, Duntroon RMC Band, Canberra Mens Choir as a soloist and as part of the Canberra School of Music Choir. She has performed in many NSW Town Halls and Entertainment Centres as a soloist, at the Sydney Opera House as part of a chorus, and as a soloist in Britain. Glynda has been interviewed by and has sung on 2XX and ABC Radio 2CN. Glynda, as a "Voice for the Occasion", also sings at Wedding, Funerals and other functions as well as performing at Aged Care Homes. For information click here.
